Each year, the Arkansas Press Association holds statewide contests for newspaper advertising and editorial content. Last week, staff from the Advance-Monticellonian traveled to Hot Springs to an awards presentation for the 2026 Better Newspaper Advertising Contest. The Advance won seven first place, five second place, and three third place awards, including ‘Best Advertising Special Section’ for the 2025 Drew County Farm Family section, featuring the Hoover family. Other awards received were ‘Best Black and White Ad,’ ‘Best Single-Use Ad,’ ‘Best Use of Process Color,’ ‘Best Sports Section,’ ‘Best Cover Photo,’ ‘Automotive Ad,’ ‘Employment Ad,’ and ‘Best of Show.’ Pictured above are members of the Advance team that work to create, sell, and publish these special products.
