Area drug investigations lead to 21 arrests; seizure of over $6 Million in controlled substances

Multi-agency drug enforcement operations spanning from February 10 to February 26 have resulted in the arrest of 21 individuals and the seizure of illegal narcotics valued at approximately $6,194,090.00.

These operations were a joint effort by multiple law enforcement agencies, including: 10th Drug Task Force (DTF), Ashley County Sheriff’s Office, Monticello Police Department, McGehee Police Department, Drew County Sheriff’s Office, Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, Warren Police Department, Desha County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas Community Corrections (ACC) Probation and Parole, Arkansas State Police,  Arkansas Department of Corrections K-9 Units and law enforcement agencies in the State of Louisiana. These investigations included a fleeing case that ended in the State of Louisiana, and Officers executing 18 residential searches, resulting in the drug seizures.

During these investigations, law enforcement officers confiscated significant quantities of illicit substances, including approximately:

  • 59,801 grams of methamphetamine
  • 27 grams of powder cocaine
  • 25 grams of crack cocaine
  • 16 grams of ecstasy pills
  • 30 grams of fentanyl powder
  • 4,564 grams of marijuana
  • 108 dosage units of Schedule IV pills
  • 71 opioid pills
  • 930 grams of promethazine with codeine

Authorities emphasize that these efforts are part of an ongoing commitment to reduce overdose deaths, combat drug trafficking, and organized crime. Law enforcement officials encourage the public to report any suspicious activity and continue working together to keep communities safe.

By actively disrupting drug trafficking, we are not only holding criminals accountable but also preventing countless overdoses and saving lives. Every gram of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other dangerous substances taken off our streets represents a potential tragedy averted.  Drug enforcement remains a critical tool in reducing addiction, crime, and overdose deaths in our communities, and we will continue to pursue these cases with the full force of the law,” Frank Spain, Prosecuting Attorney said.
