Audrey Barnett Mitchell, 73, of Crossett, passed away March 7, 2025, at Unity Health in Searcy. She was born November 10, 1951, in Crossett to the late Simms Barnett and Ethel Winters Avery.
She recently retired from Wal Mart where she had 26 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Audrey loved cooking and sharing recipes on Facebook, dancing and watching Friends on television with her son.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Anthony Mitchell; a brother, Mark Barnett; and three sisters, Dean Barnett, Dorothy Hensley and Rose Maxwell.
Survivors include two sons, James B. Mitchell of Crossett and Steven Mitchell (Tonya) of Del City, Okla.; her former husband, Jim Mitchell of Crossett; one half-sister, Jodean Tew (James) of Crossett; two nieces, Claudia Freeman (Larry) and Crystal Mills; along with a host of her Wal Mart friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. There was a visitation Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial was in Rash Cemetery.
