Reece Owen Mata was born at the Olivia Faith Beebe Nursery in Drew Memorial Health System on Tuesday, January 3 at 8:49 a.m., making him the firstborn baby at the hospital and kicking off for a wonderful 2023. This beautiful baby boy was delivered by Dr. Chapman and was 21 inches long and weighed six pounds. His mother, Erica Mata, is in awe of the precious addition.
The Drew Memorial Auxiliary provides the parents of the first baby born in the Olivia Faith Beebe Nursery each year with a basket of gifts to celebrate their new arrival. This year’s basket included a baby blanket, socks, outfits, toys, teething toys, books, washcloths, and many more items. Auxilian President, Barbara Brown presented the gift basket on behalf of the organization. The Auxiliary provides thousands of hours of volunteer service each year to the hospital in most departments and holds many fundraisers to support the hospital’s mission of providing quality health care in the region.
