Belle View Rehab and Care Center accepting donations for Monticello's elderly

Posted

Belle View Rehab and Care Center is accepting donations for elderly people in the community through multiple events. Currently, they are selling sodas as well as accepting donations of items such as non-perishable food, hygiene products, and fans at the front office.

Belle View staff noticed that there were elderly people in Monticello that weren't able to pay for their monthly needs such as food and medicine.  They started thinking of ways to help them. It was at this time when Samantha Hewitt, Director of Nursing, had the idea of a food drive for the elders.

Belle View has a box in the front office where they are accepting non-perishable food, toiletries, and fans. They plan to continue accepting these donations indefinitely.

Last week, the facility ran a lemonade stand that raised approximately $500. With the success of the lemonade stand they want to continue to help through accepting donations through events such as this and the sale of canned drinks for $1. These canned drinks are sold inside of Belle View. The proceeds go straight to helping the elderly pay for things they need.

For any further questions about these donations, contact Samantha Hewitt at 870-367-0044, or visit Belle View at 1052 Old Warren Road.
