Bessie Ann McClellan, 95, of New Edinburg, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Bradley County Medical Center in Warren. She was born December 30, 1928, in Monticello to the late Willy D. and Ottie Ray Hoover Cater. She worked for Potlatch Corporation for 26 years before her retirement and was a Baptist.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Eddie Earl Cox and Grice McClellan; brothers; Cal Cater, Otis Cater, J. D. Cater and Myriel Cater; sisters, Grace Cater, Eunice McQuisten, Lilly Cater, Lovenner White, Claradell Walters and Mary Sanders; and a grandson; Todd Cox.
She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Truman; sons, William David Cox (Jan), Billy Ray Cox (Becky); Steven Lamar Cox, and Eddie Dewayne Cox; and grandchildren, Christie Jester (Jody) and Kenneth Allen Cox; and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Bro. Joe Chambers officiating. Burial will be in Willoughby Cemetery, Old Camden Road, Warren.
