Betty Jean Davis Frost, 89, of West Monroe, La., entered Heaven on April 1, 2026, after a prolonged illness. Born December 26, 1936, in Stevenson, Ala., to Foster Ray and Mary “Pauline” Davis, she was the oldest of nine children and cherished her upbringing in middle Tennessee. She graduated from Franklin County High School in 1955 and Falls Business College in 1957. She met the love of her life, Jack Ray Frost, in 1957 while he was serving in the U.S. Army, and they married on January 26, 1958, in Monroe, Louisiana.

Betty and Jack raised their children, Stephen and Kay, in Winnsboro and West Monroe, Louisiana. A devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, Betty was known as “Frostie” during her 31-year career with Louisiana Power & Light/Entergy, where she rose from cashier to Business Office Supervisor before retiring in 1999. She also enjoyed success selling Mary Kay Cosmetics in the 1980s and 1990s.

Betty was a true Southern lady who loved gardening, entertaining, playing bridge, traveling, and time with family and friends. She was active in numerous clubs and organizations and was also a breast cancer survivor and advocate.

After retiring, Betty and Jack traveled extensively with friends throughout Europe. Known as “Bibi (Grandmother) Betty,” she was beloved by all she met during visits to Kenya and Tanzania in 2004 and 2008 while her daughter, Kay, served there as a missionary.

Betty joined First Baptist Church of West Monroe in 1976 and faithfully lived out her love for her Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. Guided by Matthew 6:31–33, she devoted her life to loving others, prayer, and service. She was active in the Promise Sunday School Class, Bible studies, and the Homebound Ministry, but most cherished serving as a Sunday morning greeter. A dedicated prayer warrior, she supported mission work—especially her daughter Kay’s—and shared encouragement through countless cards and letters to all who knew her.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Foster and Pauline Davis; siblings Doris, Billy, Robert “Wayne,” and Foster “Boney” Davis, Jr.; and her sister Anna “Ruth” Bradford and her husband, Junior.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Jack; her children, Stephen (Susan) Frost and Jacquelyn “Kay” Frost; her sisters Mary Elizabeth Pratt, Sue (Tommy) Knight, and Dorothy “Pat” Davis; her grandchildren Lauren Cotita, Davis, Luke, and John Frost; and her great-grandchildren Kensley and Presley Wheelis.

Known as “Bibi Betty” in Tanzania, she also leaves a legacy of love to her extended family there, including her grandchildren Respiquce (Prisca) Projestus, Veronica (Frank) Fidelis, Paschal (Faraja) James, Jackie Hosea, Kelvin Masura, and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents of Grand Manor for the care, kindness, and friendship they shared with Betty in her final years.
