Betty Jo (Harris) Tucker, 87, of Monticello passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at her home. She was born September 3, 1937, in Cornerville to the late Johnnie Lee and Bobbie (Davis) Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Laron Tucker; son, Ramos Tucker; grandson, Ramos Tucker, Jr.; and sister, Janice Jefferson.
She spent years working at UAM in the registrar’s office but eventually transitioned to working for the Monticello School District at their In-School Suspension where she retired after many years of service.
She loved fellowshipping at St. Ollie’s Missionary Baptist Church, cooking, fishing and being with her family.
Survivors include three sons, Carlos (Yvonne) Tucker; Juan (Carla) Tucker and Geneo (Shirley) Tucker; two daughters, Gale (McKinley) Reese and Angel (David) Weiss, 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host other family.
Visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2024, 5-7 p.m. Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 5 at 11 a.m. Both will be held at Stephenson Dearman Funeral Home, 943 Hwy 425 North, Monticello, with burial in Oakland Cemetery.
