Billy Darrell Newton, of Dermott, passed away on May 10 at the Woods of Monticello Health and Rehabilitation. Billy was born on December 25, 1957, to Billy Joe Newton and Betty Jean Thomas. He was self-employed as a mechanic in the agriculture industry.
Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing, mud riding, watching TV, and spending time with his two cats.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Dennis Moyer.
He is survived by his son, Shane (Rebecca) Newton of Monticello; daughter Michell (Brandon) Lloyd of Monticello; sister, Theresa (Ricky) Carter of McGehee; and sister, Jo Ann Moyer of Casa. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Noah Beth Newton, Kagan Lloyd (Fiancé Nick Doggett), Garrett (Savannah) Newton, Maddie Newton, and Macy Lloyd; along with four great-grandchildren, River, Kora, Lyla Jo and Wrenley Newton, who is on the way.
