“On February 13, 2025 at approximately 8:14pm Drew County 911 received a call in reference to a shooting incident on Avery Rd. Prior to arrival a suspect was developed and was apprehended immediately after arrival. Matthew A. Lunsford (28) of Monticello was arrested and charged with Murder and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor (x's 2). He is currently being housed at the Drew County Detention Facility awaiting a First Appearance. This investigation is still ongoing and charges may be amended prior to completion. The identity of the deceased will not be released at this time. Please note that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”�
