Chris Alan Beard, 54, of Monticello, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello.  He was born February 9, 1968 in Monticello.  He was a member of Rose Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Monticello and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Desert Storm.  Chris enjoyed spending time with his family, playing the drums, camping, watching movies, and Jeep riding.

Preceding him in death were his father, Ronald Gene Beard; brother-in-law, Tom Wooten and nephew, Dillon Wooten.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Amber Lynn Johnson Beard of Monticello; his mother, Bettye Rial of Monticello; four sons, Trace (Madi) Beard of Warren, Zach (Katelyn Bostian) Beard of Warren, Colby Beard of Arkadelphia, and Devin (Stephanie) Beard of White Hall; one sister, Shelly Wooten of Monticello; five grandchildren, Raylan Beard, Natalie Beard, Brantley Beard, Kyler Beard, and Daxston Beard; two bonus children, Sonny Phillips and Bo Evans; a niece, Kelsey Wooten of Monticello; and many friends and extended family.

Funeral services are at 2p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022 with Bro. Allen Elkins officiating.  Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the funeral home with burial at Butler/Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Star City.  Pallbearers are Sabrina Sawyer, Roger Dale Barnett, Matt Stepp, Brian “BJ” James, Chance Young, and Shawn Wright.  Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Barnett, Steve Mann, and Travis Harris.
