Beginning 2 p.m. Thursday, June 4, the City of Monticello will be accepting bids for $324,000 in improvements to the Monticello Sports Complex.
The project is funded by a grant that was applied for and obtained by the Mayor’s Office.
The improvements will consist of a new walking track that will circle a large portion of the complex and connect its West and East sides via sidewalks, replacing the dirt and often muddy connector. Walkways will be added throughout the complex as well to improve connectivity to dugouts.
“Our goal is to complete the Sports Complex and do so using as much grant money as possible,” said Mayor Jason Akers.
Local contractors are encouraged to submit bids at the Monticello City Hall Council Chambers.
