Clifford Howell Bowden, 90

Clifford Howell Bowden, 90, of the Prairie Grove community in Drew County, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 19, 2022.  He was born December 15, 1931, in Drew County, to the late Howard Bowden and Mary Howell Bowden.

He was self-employed, a member of the Prairie Grove Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran.  Mr. Clifford’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, wagon riding and saw milling.  He was a former member of the Drew Central School Board and was President of Prairie Grove Cemetery Association.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ouida Thurman Bowden; two brothers, Downey and Kenneth Bowden; and two sisters, Ruth Ferguson and Geneva Clampit.

His survivors include a son, Mark Bowden (Kim); a daughter, Susan Harris (Bobby) all of the Prairie Grove community; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; along with a special friend, Florinda Ferguson.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Timmy Carpenter and Rev.
