Cora Mae Scroggins Piper, 81, of Monticello, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024, at her home. She was born May 11, 1943, in Hermitage to the late Clarence David Scroggins and Lizzie Beth Horn Scroggins.
She worked in upholstery along with being employed with Dura Craft Boats and War Eagle Boats. Cora was a Baptist and enjoyed growing flowers, fishing and camping. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Gardner; and siblings, J.C., Zola Bee, G.W., Shady Lee and Dolly Mae.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Piper of Monticello; five children, Bobby Sivils of Monticello, Charles E. Kelley of Warren, David Kelley of Monticello, Judy Howard of Monticello and Connie Johns of Lake Village; along with eleven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2024, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. There was a visitation from noon - 2 p.m. preceding the funeral service. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery.
