Daniel "Danny" Meeks Brown, Sr., 71, of Monticello, went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on April 16, 2024, after suffering a fall at his residence.
Danny was born on October 18, 1952, to Charlie Houston and Mabel Polk Brown in Cooter, Mo.
He will be lovingly remembered by four children, Sherry Ann Lassiter ( Robby Lassiter), Daniel "Bubba" Meeks Brown, Jr. (Crystal Henderson Brown), Ashley Nicole Walker ( Ralph Walker), and Mallory Lynn Brown; eleven grandchildren, Laura Hensley, Roger Hensley, Robert Lassiter, Zachary Lassiter, Nathan Brown, Ryan Brown, Cooper Walker, Coleman Walker, Langston Ashley, Leighton Ashley, and Stella Rose Swan; and one great-granddaughter Landry Newell.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Edith Brown and Quida Joyce Bennett; and brothers, Clarence Brown, Jimmy Brown, Joe Brown, and David Brown.
Danny retired from Dermott Schools in 2017. He was passionate about hunting, especially deer. He loved to tell about the many adventures he had in the woods. In the deer stand, is where he felt most at home and connected to God. His passion for hunting was second to his love for Christ. Danny became a Christian in 1988 and took pride in knowing he would go to heaven when this life ended.
A service in memory of Danny will be held on May 4, 2024, at 1 p.m., at Northside Baptist Church, 427 North Archer St, Eudora, AR. Interment will follow in the family plot at Kilbourne Cemetery in Kilbourne, La.
