Doyle Wayne Hutson, 65

Doyle Wayne Hutson was born on September 14, 1959, in Drew County. He was the son of the late Chester, Sr. and Flossie Mae James Hutson and embraced a life of faith, becoming a member of Green Mount AME Church after confessing his hope in Christ at an early age.

A proud graduate of Drew Central High School’s Class of 1977, Doyle went on to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army in 1980. Following active duty, he continued his service in the Army Reserves, ultimately receiving an honorable discharge.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irene Luetz Hutson (September 2023), his parents Chester and Flossie Mae James Hutson, and his two brothers, Lonnie and Ricks Hutson. Doyle leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter.

He is survived by his devoted caregiver and daughter, Rev. Latasha Lavern Hutson of Rosharon, Texas, and three stepchildren: Jessie (Tasha) Kimbrough and Jeff (LaWanda) Kimbrough, both of Columbia, S.C., and Kisha Kimbrough Jordan (Troy) of Laurel, Md. He also leaves five brothers: James Hutson (Marilyn) of Warren; Chester Hutson, Jr. (Wanda) of Bryant; Kelton (Carrie) Hutson and Cedric Hutson of Monticello, and Lenwood Hutson of Gould; as well as six sisters: Minnie Soward of Southfield, Mich.; Bertha Walker of Kansas City, Mo.; Flossie Junior of Tyler, Texas; Ferglinnis Hutson and Cherish Hutson of Detroit, Mich.; and Gwen (Johnnie) Simpson of Monticello.

Services were held on Saturday, November 9,2024, at Shady Grove A.M.E Church, Rev. Christopher Goodman officiating. Burial was at Green Mount Cemetery in Coleman.
