Drew Central Jr. Beta Club hosts shoe drive to support families worldwide

The Drew Central Middle School Junior Beta Club is hosting a shoe drive now through Christmas break to raise funds and provide opportunities for families in developing countries.

The drive collects any size, any gender, gently worn used, or new shoes. Shoes can be dropped off at Drew Central Elementary or Middle School, Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, or Second Baptist Church.

All donated shoes will be redistributed through Funds2Orgs, which works with micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations to help them create and grow small businesses. Proceeds from the shoes support these families by helping to feed, clothe, and house them, and in some cases, provide educational opportunities.

“We’re excited about this shoe drive,” said Morgan Curry, Jr. Beta Club sponsor. “It’s a great way for our students and community members to make a difference. By donating shoes, we’re not only raising funds for our club’s activities, but we’re also helping families across the world improve their lives.”

The Jr. Beta Club has already received incredible support, including a donation of 100 pairs of shoes from Giuliana DeLa Cruz. The club encourages everyone to look in their closets and contribute—every pair counts!
