Each year, Drew Central Elementary and Middle School students help SEARK Reading Council collect money for the Heifer Project. Heifer International is an Arkansas foundation that provides animals for families in other countries. They train the families to use the animals for the benefit of their families and communities. Each animal purchased helps families have food and income to help provide for their needs. This year Drew Central students collected $1,500. Mrs. Eddy’s kindergarten class collected the most money for Drew Central Elementary, and Mrs. Ferrell’s second period class raised the most money for Middle School.
