At the Drew Central School Board meeting held on Tuesday, June 20, the proposed Mainline Dentist Program was approved. The entire school board was present except for Bruce Hackett.

A presentation on the proposal was given by Ashley Anthony, Dr. Terri Eubanks, and Chief Executive Officer of Mainline Health Systems, Allan Nichols. They stated that this program is already set up in Star City and are working towards setting up the program in Warren.

Having dentist at the school will allow students to momentarily come out of class for any dentist work that is needed and head back to class. The dentist will be able to do everything a dentist can except root canals, and put people under anesthesia . The dentist will be able to serve both students and school staff, and will be able to work with most insurance companies.

The dentist's office only requires a room with water access on an outside wall so that the compressor won't make any noise indoors.

Also approved at the meeting were bids for milk and bread for the school year. The milk bid was approved by Hiland Dairy and the bread bid was approved by Flowers Baking Company. Each of these companies were the only companies to bid on these categories.

Purchases of both classroom furniture and 200 chrome books were also approved by the school board. The classroom furniture has a spending limit of $45,000 whereas the purchase of the chrome books is an exact amount of $54,270.50.
