In Nashville, Tenn., there sits a brick building often referred to as “The Mother Church.”

The Ryman Auditorium is a place rich in history and culture, and remains relevant in the ever changing Nashville music scene.

Ward Davis, Drew County native and Drew Central graduate will make his Ryman debut, Saturday, Aug. 20.

Davis moved to Nashville around two decades ago to follow his dreams of becoming a singer songwriter.

Over the first part of his career, Davis found success as a song writer. He has had his original writings recorded by artists including Trace Adkins, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Sammy Kershaw, Buddy Jewel and more.

He released his first studio album “15 Years in a 10 Year Town” in 2015 and made it on nation wide satellite radio with the single “Old Worn Out Cowboys” featuring Jamey Johnson and Willie Nelson.

His most recent album “Black Cats and Crows” has shown more commercial success and Davis has been touring the country, promoting the album.

His debut concert at The Ryman Auditorium is a milestone in his musical career.
