Drew County man charged in Rock Springs shooting

$100,000 bond set; court date pending

At approximately 12:13 a.m. on December 21, 2025, deputies with the Drew County Sheriff’s Office, along with medical personnel, were dispatched to a residence on Sullivan Road in the Rock Springs community in reference to a reported shooting.

During the subsequent investigation, authorities identified William Drew Tadel, 21, of Wilmar, as the individual alleged to have discharged the firearm. Tadel was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Drew County Detention Facility.

Law enforcement officials later confirmed that Noah Long, 21, of Monticello, succumbed to his injuries.

Tadel has been formally charged with first-degree murder in connection with the incident.

On Monday, December 22, Tadel made his first appearance before Judge Crews Puryear. Tadel’s bond was set at $100,000 Commercial with additional conditions of release. No court date has been set at this time, and the investigation is still ongoing. As with all criminal matters, Tadel is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
