Floree Veirs Stark, 99

Floree Veirs Stark, 99, of Monticello, formerly of Cecilia, Ky., went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at her home in Monticello. She was born September 19, 1924, in Hardin County, Ky. to the late Cyrus Smith Veirs and Dora Leonard Veirs.
She was the widow of Charles R. Stark, Sr., a housewife and member of Cecilia Baptist Church in Cecilia, Ky. At the time of her death, she was the oldest member of that church. She was also a Sunday School teacher of the Golden Girls Sunday School Class for many years and member and officer of the Women's Missionary Union. Mrs. Floree enjoyed crocheting, sewing and reading. She was also a 53-year member of Cecilia Homemakers Club where she was named Hardin County Master Homemaker in 1971.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Willis S. Veirs and Russell Veirs; one sister, Paralee Veirs Peters; three brothers-in-law, Eddie Peters, William L. Stark and Leslie Smith; four sisters-in-law, Alice Felker Veirs, Maude Brown Veirs, Virginia Stark Smith and Mamie Patterson Stark; three nephews, Richard S. Belt, Gerald Smith and Michael D. Veirs; and three nieces, Joyce Veirs Felts, Nijel Veirs Clayton and Jackie Peters Zabel.
She is survived by one child, Charles R. ''Bob'' Stark, Jr. (Teresa) of Monticello; one grandson, Timothy Chung (Shannon) of Searcy; one granddaughter, Tina Chung Hodges (Blake) of Conway; four great grandchildren, Mia Grace Chung, Macie Kate Hodges, Landon Stark Chung and Caroline Ryan Hodges; five nieces and nephews, Ada Widener (Les) of Dickson, Tenn., Linda Sexton (Don) of Cecilia, Ky., Jim Veirs (Barbara) of Frisco, Texas, David Ray Smith (Anna) of Louisville, Ky., and Janet Lou Davis (Rick) of Louisville, Ky.; along with the wife Melinda of deceased nephew Michael, and the wife Sandy of deceased nephew Gerald.
There was a visitation from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. There will be a funeral in Cecilia, Ky. at 12 p.m. at Cecilia Baptist Church Saturday, January 27, 2024. There will be a time of visitation two hours preceding the funeral service at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Hardin Memorial Park Cemetery.
