George ''Billy'' William Hayden, 71, of Coleman, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born December 30, 1951, in Coleman to the late George Wilbur Hayden and Tommie Creighton Hayden.
Billy drove a log truck until his retirement from L.D. Long, Inc. He was a member of Pleasant Springs Missionary Baptist Church and attended night services at Faith Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing in the church choir, mowing grass, and cutting firewood.
In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his wife Deborah Rouse Hayden; two sons, William George Hayden, and George Wilbur Hayden; and one brother, Wilbur Gene Hayden.
Billy is survived by two brothers, Larry D. Hayden of Coleman, and Eddie Hayden (Gail) of Monticello; one sister, Judy Trout of Monticello; nephew, Bryan D. Hayden (Karen); niece, Theresa Brazier (Rick) of Fountain Hill; special friend, Ms. Linda Naron of Monticello; all of his church family and friends from both Pleasant Springs and Faith Missionary Baptist Churches; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation was on Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Pleasant Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral Services followed at 3:30 p.m. Burial was in Pleasant Springs Cemetery.
