Hartness joins lending team at Union Bank

As of June 1, Union Bank and Trust Company has a new lending officer on staff.

Kerry Hartness, a Monticello High School and University of Arkansas at Monticello graduate, will be available for all community lending needs, with a focus on agriculture and poultry operations.

“I am excited for the opportunity to join a landmark in Southeast Arkansas,” Hartness said. “Union Bank has served this area for more than a century and they are deeply passionate and committed to the community. I look forward to continuing the tradition and building new relationships.”

Hartness joins Union Bank with 10 years of lending experience. He was most recently the Chief Credit Officer for Delta Farm Credit Services in Monticello and Dermott and has worked with Delta ACA.

“I have been fortunate to work with all different aspects of agriculture lending,” Hartness added.

Hartness has a proven history of being service minded. He served two tours over seas with the Arkansas National Guard and serves as president of the Drew County Farm Bureau Federation Board.

“I am proud to announce the hiring of Kerry Hartness as Vice-President in our lending division,” Bank President Dave Dickson stated. “Kerry brings a wealth of knowledge in lending, particularly in agriculture area related to row crops and poultry lending. Kerry is very involved in our community are we are excited to have him join our Union Bank team.”

Hartness and his wife of 13 years, Melissa, have a six year old daughter, Annie, and they attend First Baptist Church in Monticello.
