Helen Cruce Burnett, 97, of Monticello passed September 1, 2022, at Belle View Estates in Monticello. She was born June 30, 1925, in the Prairie Grove Community to the late Jay and Rita Bowden Cruce. She was married to Henry "Bill" Burnett. Mrs. Helen was a loving, humble mother and caregiver. She loved helping and taking care of people. She never spoke an ill word toward anyone and she would scold you if you did. She was a peacemaker and wanted everyone to be taken care of. Mrs. Helen always loved to have her hair, lipstick, eyebrows, and nails done and loved to watch her favorite actor, Cary Grant. You never saw her without her earrings, ring, and hairbows. She loved her daughter and her nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces, and nephews with all her heart.
Mrs. Helen is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son; Glen Edward Burnett; two grandsons, Nathan and Daniel Trantham; two brothers, John "Buster" Cruce and Dub Cruce; two sisters Letha Howell and Bertha Bolin; special niece Claudie Sparks; a very special son in law, James Haney; her mother and father in law, Frank and Jessie McKay Burnett; and a special friend, Betty Rabb.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Haney of Monticello; one grandson, Dennis Michael Trantham of Little Rock; niece Sandy West (Bobby) of Hamburg; one sister-in-law Sara Cruce; and special friends, Connie Mullis and Mary Washington, and Darlene Holland.
The family would like to give special thanks to Teresa "Patricia" Kelly, Bobby Whitlock, and Brandy, as well as the entire staff of Belle View Estates Nursing Home for the caring and compassionate care shown to Mrs. Helen during her time there.
Graveside Services were Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 5 p.m. at Campground Cemetery in Monticello.
