James Philip Henley, age 89 of Carrolton, TX, formerly of Monticello, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, May 23, at Grand Brook Memory Care in Carrolton, TX. He was born December 29, 1936, in Monticello to the late James Vernny Henley and Verdell Inous Phillips Henley.
He was a retired District Sales Manager and Corporate Training Manager, Cabinet maker and longtime member of Pauline Missionary Baptist Church and a United States Army National Guard Veteran. He was also a member of the UAM Alumni Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mardelle Crawford Henley.
Survivors include two sons, Mark P. Henley of Portland, ME and Brent C. Henley and wife Debra of Plano, TX; one sister, Melba Inous Wilkins of Crossett; and two grandsons, Aidyn C. Henley of Plano, TX, and Richard Henley Powers of Kansas City, MO.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Friday, May 29, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rob Leonard officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
