Janey Lou Barnes, 91

Janey Lou Barnes, 91, of Monticello, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, at UAMS Hospital in Little Rock. She was born May 6, 1931, in Drew County, to the late Claude C. Barnes and Verlee Jones Barnes.
She was a retired AT&T (formerly Southwestern Bell Telephone) employee and a member of Green Hill Methodist Church. Mrs. Janie loved her family and was always there for them. She would frequently call and check on each of them. Her hobbies included gardening, picking her tomatoes and cleaning house. Her house was always immaculate. She also enjoyed going to Union Ridge Cemetery where many of her family is buried, where she would mow, clean monuments and place flowers on them.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Milford L. Barnes, Sr. (Edna) and Mervin W. Barnes (Bonnie Earnestine); numerous nieces and nephews; one special nephew, Julius Barnes; along with several other nieces and nephews. She is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews; along with numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Union Ridge Cemetery. There was a visitation from 11 a.m.  to 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. You can sign Mrs. Janey's guestbook page at www.stephensondearman.com.
