Kenneth Ross Crain, 96

Kenneth Ross Crain,  96, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 18, 2023, in Monticello.  He was born in Shawnee, Okla. on February 7, 1927 to Clyde Crain and Mattie Mae Mullins Crain.  

He is predeceased in death by his wife, Vilma Delle Norwood Crain, his parents,  his brothers, Earl Crain and Harold "Bus" Crain, and sister Louise Crain Johnson.  

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Kathy (James) Tumlison; sons, Bill (Mary) Crain and Jim (Jane) Crain; grandchildren, Paul  (Hannah) Tumlison, Katie Tumlison Holland (Mike), Carol Anne Tumlison Camp (Slade), Leslie Crain, Stephen (Megan) Crain, Jonathan Crain; great grandchildren Ashton Tumlison, Anna Holland, Trey Holland, Vivian Camp, and Nolan Camp; and one sister-in-law, Carol Norwood Eason.   

Kenneth was a member of Rotary, Arkansas Baptist Men, Arms Around Arkadelphia Disaster Relief and Deacon Ministry.  So many in the community have benefitted from Ken’s quick willingness to help over the last many years, and he spent much of his time visiting around town and bringing smiles to all he met. 

Visitation was held Wednesday, November 22, 2023 from 1 to 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Arkadelphia, with a funeral service following at 2 p.m., with Pastor Lee McGlone officiating. 

Burial followed at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Arkadelphia. 

Pallbearers were Paul Tumlison, Slade Camp, Mike Holland, Jonathan Crain,  Mike Crain and Russ Crain.
