Kerri Daniels from Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Family Services was the guest speaker at the Monticello Rotary Club meeting on Thursday, October 9.
Daniels thanked Rotary for holding their feminine hygiene product drive. It was estimated that $3,000-$4,000 of hygiene products were donated to the young ladies at Vera Lloyd. Daniels added that Rotary's efforts greatly increased community awareness.
Daniels noted that she had visited with Chris Barnett of Chris' Hair Care, who presented Vera Lloyd with a $4,000 donation from her church.
Daniels also discussed the foster system in Arkansas and presented some statistics. She also discussed the situations from which the children served by Vera Lloyd come and how they are helping to prepare them for life after they age out of the system.
