The Monticello Lady Billies soccer season ended on Thursday, May 15, in the first round of the 4A State Soccer Championship Tournament with their contest being held in Maumelle against the Magnolia Lady Panthers 2-0.
Monticello and Magnolia had met early in the 2025 season with the contest ending in a 3-3 tie.
The tie would make Monticello’s record at that point of the season 1-1-1 after opening the season with a win over Hermitage and a loss to White Hall.
After the tie with Magnolia, the Lady Billies would go on to post the best Lady Billies Soccer season in school history.
Winning their next two non conference contests, the Lady Billies would open conference play with an 18-0 victory over Mills University and would remain undefeated in conference until being defeated by Star City for their only conference loss of the season.
Heading into the final regular season contests, the Lady Billies would defeat Hamburg 1-0 for a shot at the conference championship against Warren.
The Lady Billies would complete their historic season with their first ever Conference Championship and would enter the 4A State Tournament for the second consecutive season, this time as the number one seed out of the 4A East.
Drawing Magnolia for the first round contest, the teams would remain scoreless for the first 24 minutes before Magnolia would get the only goal of the half.
The Lady Panthers would score one more goal in the second half to take the contest 2-0.
With the loss the Lady Billies will finish the season with the best record in school history, a 10-3-1 overall record posting a Conference Championship and back to back State Tournament appearances.
