Leon Faulkner, 82, of Monticello, passed away Thursday, May 19, at his home in Monticello. He was born February 26, 1940, in Lake Providence, La. to the late Joseph Walter Faulkner and Cora Harris Faulkner.

He was retired from the City of Monticello and a Baptist. Leon loved to hunt and fish but his greatest love was his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Fuller Faulkner of Monticello; two daughters, Jeanette Minchew and Nancy Faulkner both of Lake Village; three sons, David Faulkner, Michael (Red) Faulkner (Michelle) and Steve Faulkner (Lea) all of Monticello; a special daughter, Wanda Hadwin of Bossier City, La.; two brothers, James Faulkner (Doris) of Washington and Bruce Faulkner (Linda) of Monticello; one sister, Mary Venable of Monticello; ten grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.

Graveside services were at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Monty Meek officiating. There was a visitation from 3-5 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. You can sign Leon's guestbook page at www.stephensondearman.com.
