Local students compete in regional math contest

Top mathematics students from throughout the region competed at the annual Arkansas Council for Teachers of Mathematics’ Southeast Arkansas Mathematics Contest hosted at the University of Arkansas at Monticello on March 1. Pictured on the steps of the Science Center are the first, second and third place winners in each category, divided by row.

First-place winners were (bottom row, from left) Jaycie Foster of Drew Central (Algebra I), Anthony Micholick of Drew Central (Geometry), Raul Madrigel-Hidalgo of White Hall (Algebra II), Kaylee Horton of Monticello (Trigonometry/Precalculus) and Yuki Lin of White Hall (Calculus).

Second-place winners were (second row, from left) Beckett Haney of Hamburg (Algebra I), Eli Coburn of Monticello (Geometry), Chloe Armbrust of Monticello (Algebra II), Lennon Ludwig of Drew Central (Trigonometry/Precalculus) and Hannah Estess of White Hall (Calculus).

Third-place winners were (third row, from left) Madison Bussell of Drew Central (Algebra I), A’zaiah Wyatt of Monticello (Geometry), Jordan Jones of Drew Central (Algebra II), Jackson Nelms of Drew Central (Trigonometry/Precalculus) and Natalie Spadoni of White Hall (Calculus).
