Maxann Leigh Mizell, 47, of Bastrop, La., passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at St. Frances Medical Center in Monroe, La. She was born October 25, 1978, in Monticello to the late John Marshall Wigley and Wanda Holford Wigley Hopkins.
Maxann loved spending time with her family, but her greatest passion was spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved to raise highland cows.
Survivors include one son, Lawton Smith; two daughters, Kelby Rusk (Christian) and Karter Smith (fiancé Dakota Hinton); along with four grandchildren, Baby H., Nyla Hinton, Drake Hinton and John Rusk; and fiancé Shane Duckworth.
There was be a come-and-go visitation Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home.
