MHS Cheer has successful camp

The Monticello High School Cheerleaders recently attended the National Cheerleaders Association Camp in Hot Springs, Arkansas.  This squad worked hard, competing against other squads from Arkansas, Mississippi, and Texas. The squad came home with the following awards:  All Superior Ribbons for our Game Day Cheer and Jam Routine; Spirit Stick; Technical Excellence in Stunts for our Jam Routine; a Bid to Compete at Nationals; Won the Sr High Division of the Top Gun Dance Competition; Senior Cheerleader, Lillian Lay was a finalist in the Top Gun Jump Competition;  Chosen for the Herkie Team Award by other squads at camp for teamwork and leadership; 11 Nominated for All American Cheerleader; Katie Rosegrant, Lily Parke, Sarah Prince, Kaiden Hale, Lillian Lay, Riley Derryberry, Arianna Reyes, and Katie Standley made the All American Team and Katie Rosegrant and Lily Parke were invited to tryout for NCA Staff.

  Our Mascot, Josh Young, received a superior ribbon for his skit and was chosen most spirited mascot at camp.  The Monticello High School Cheer Squad is coached by Whitney Maggard.  

The squad invites you to watch their performance and support the Billies at the Blue/White game on August 12th at 6:00 pm at Hyatt Field.
