Long time loan officer and Southeast Arkansas resident, Michael Efird, has joined the lending team at Union Bank and Trust.
Originally from McGehee, Efird began his career in banking part-time at McGehee Bank in 1988. Efird has been in Monticello since 1991, where he attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
“I love the people of Monticello,” Efird stated. “I love how community oriented the residents are, and how giving we are of our time, money, and selves.”
Efird said he is excited to join the team of highly experienced loan officers that Union Bank has established and is thankful for this opportunity to remain in Monticello and work here.
“We plan to retire here, we love it,” Efird added.
Efird and his wife, Jodie, have four children, Morgan (Dalton), Beau, John Michael and Max, and two grandchildren.
“I enjoy working with small business owners and potential homeowners,” Efird stated. “I believe home ownership helps the community and all those involved. Over my career, I have been fortunate enough to establish many long term and wonderful loan and deposit relationships, and look forward to continuing those, as well as building new ones.”
