More than 350 people gathered Saturday evening at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church for the third annual Pack the Pew Musical, an event that brought together singers, musicians and worshippers from across Southeast Arkansas for a night of music and praise.

The program featured performances by Keenon Coleman and the Monticello Community Choir, along with guest appearances by Rickey Wade and Promise, Rev. R.C. Barnes & Another Chapter, Trell & Phaze 2, and the Eudora Community Choir.

Leading worship throughout the evening was Elder Maurice Tatum, accompanied by a band that helped create an atmosphere of celebration and worship for those in attendance.

One of the highlights of the event was the Monticello Community Choir, which was composed of 30 members representing communities throughout Southeast Arkansas. The choir joined together to deliver performances that reflected the event's theme of unity and faith.

The annual event also recognized the efforts of 15 captains who helped support and promote the musical. At the conclusion of the evening, organizers crowned Mr. and Mrs. Morning Star. The honors were awarded to Rev. D.J. Buffington and Vera Suber.

Organizers said the event's strong attendance and enthusiastic participation demonstrated the continued support for community-centered worship experiences. Throughout the evening, attendees filled the sanctuary with praise, fellowship and encouragement.

The Pack the Pew Musical was coordinated by Sheila Jacob and Artayvias “T-Man” Jacob, whose leadership helped bring together performers, volunteers and supporters for the annual gathering.

As the final songs were sung and the evening came to a close, organizers and attendees reflected on what many described as an overwhelming success, marked by powerful music, community fellowship and a spirit of worship.
