Ms. Mary ‘Diane’ Johnson was born on August 5, 1952, to the late Pierce Orr and Bessie (Woodard) Orr in Wilmar. She departed this life August 26, 2025, at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock.
Diane united with Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where she sung in the choir. She graduated from Wilmar High School in 1970. In 1972, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Patrick Eugene Jones III and she later married the late Atley Johnson in 2004.
Throughout her life, Diane worked for various companies including, Burlington Industries and Drew Memorial Hospital. She was also known as the ‘Avon lady’.
She is preceded in death by her brother James Orr.
She leaves to mourn: two sons, Patrick Eugene Jones IV (Regina) of Plano, Texas and Jeremy Laron Rowlett of Wilmar; one grandson, Patrick Terran Jones V of El Dorado; one step-granddaughter, Ashley Chauntel Harrison of Plano, Texas; one sister, Lereatha (Henry) Hamilton of Pine Bluff; one brother, Johnny (Amanda) Orr of Wilmar; two special nieces, Gwinnett Orr of Little Rock, and Denise Moore of Wilmar; a special sister-in-law, Peggy Orr of Wilmar; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 13, at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church in Wilmar. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
