Myrtle Edna Kellum Smith Farley, 85

Myrtle Edna Kellum Smith Farley, 85, of Monticello, passed away Sunday, April 17, at Belleview Estates Nursing and Rehab in Monticello. She was born August 20, 1936, in Drew County, to the late Clyde Kellum and Ellie Inez Harrison Kellum.

She was the widow of John R. ''Bobby'' Farley, a homemaker and a lifetime member of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church of Monticello. Myrtle was a devout Christian and a gifted seamstress. You could give her a sewing machine and material and she could make anything. She was an avid reader and a huge Arkansas Razorback basketball fan. She and her husband, Bobby, loved to travel on motorcycles and toured all 48 United States Continental States and Southern Canada.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Donnie Farley; a grandson, Michael W. Hair; brothers, Leo and Otis (Hot) Kellum; and a brother-in-law, James Young.

The family would like to issue a special thank you to the staff of Belleview Estates for the love, care, and companionship given to our mom. She loved you all like family!

She is survived by a son, Steven Smith; daughters, Theresa (David) Hair, Gayla (David) Worrell, and Patricia Farley; daughter-in-law, Marisia Farley; grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Hair, John (Melissa) Worrell, Jason (Sarah Sayyar) Worrell, Autumn Smith, John D. (Corky) Farley, Leigha (Jason) Craig and Anna Huff; great-grandchildren, Rebekka McIlvoy, Emma Mitchell, Levi Hair, Naomi Hair, Asher Hair, Bo Hammock, Addie Craig, Kaytlin Huff, Jewelia Huff, Madilyn Cortez, and Michael Cortez; a brother, Parnell (Lucille) Kellum; a sister, Deloice Young; sisters-in-law, Betty Kellum and Jo Kellum; along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Wednesday, April 20, from 1 - 2 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel. Graveside services followed at 2 p.m., at Oakland Cemetery in Monticello. You can sign Mrs. Myrtle's guestbook page at www.stephensondearman.com.
