Sheriff Tim Nichols has released the following statement:
“Dear Drew County Residents,
It has been my distinct honor to serve since 2023 as your Drew County Sheriff. During this time, we have strived to provide you and your families with the best service possible. While I know that we have room to improve, it is our goal to continue working to provide the best possible service to our community.
Since being elected as Sheriff, we have made some great improvements not only within the Sheriff’s Office and Detention Facility, but also in our proactive patrol measures. Deputies are out patrolling areas in which many have said were neglected for years, and while doing so, we have seen a decrease in criminal activity throughout the county. We have also developed strong working relationships with local, state and federal agencies in which have been a huge asset to the people of Drew County.
We have been able to decrease the budget drastically which has saved the residents of Drew County in terms of excessive spending while maintaining our standards and keeping quality law enforcement and safety at the forefront. It is my belief and goal that we continue to increase our training, while we all pray, we may never need to use it, we shall be properly prepared to handle situations.
Our youth are our future and I take pride in being involved in each school district and the communities throughout Drew County. Showing support and being involved at school, league games and Special Olympics is a blessing. I do so as more than just the Sheriff but most importantly as a friend in which the youth can look up to and depend on. My mission as well as our staff is to keep our children safe.
Our work is not finished, matter of fact it is really just beginning. I hope that you will allow us to continue this work together and Re-Elect Sheriff Tim Nichols as your Drew County Sheriff.”
