Pauline Gillespie Cockrell, 93

Pauline Gillespie Cockrell, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 7, 2024. Pauline was born in Star City on September 5, 1931, to the late Albert and Rebecca Gillespie. Pauline was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church in Monticello and retired from Burlington Industries after 36 years.

In September of 2021, after suffering a stroke, she moved to Village on the Park in Rogers. She was very happy there and enjoyed meeting new friends that became like family.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Rebecca, her husband of 66 years, Bob Cockrell, her brother, Lloyd Gillespie, her sisters, Lorene Meeks, Mildred Thurman, and Merle Wraslen.
She is survived by her sons, Mike Cockrell (Sandy) of Rogers, Randy Cockrell (Gail) of Monticello; and a daughter, Paula Vickers (Jeff) of Peachtree City, Ga. Six grandchildren, Brooke Wyatt (Ben) of Frisco, Texas; Sara Young (Collin) of Overland Park, Kan.; Jonathan Vickers of Peachtree City, Ga.; Amy Mitchell (Patrick) of Rogers and Joni Elliott (Stephen) of Davie, Fla. Pauline had 17 great grandchildren, Ellia, Marys and Taj Mitchell, Ensley, Gabe and Lucca Young, Ava, Macy and Aubrey Wyatt, Hayes, Remy and Lennon Cockrell, Hadley and JT Vickers and Maggie, Robert and Vera Elliott.
Funeral services will be at Stephenson Dearman Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 2 p.m. with Bro Ray Hearron officiating. Mrs. Kathy Lyons will be singing, and Bill Burchfield will be proving music. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. preceding the funeral service. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Mercy Hospital in Rogers and Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.
