Richard Dale ''Rick'' Binns, 78, of the Rock Springs Community, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at his home. He was born November 15, 1946, in Warren to the late Charles Hanson Binns and Annette Moseley Binns.
He was a retired Monticello School District OEC Instructor with 32 years of service and a member of First Assembly of God Church of Monticello. Rick loved deer hunting, squirrel hunting and riding horses. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Joan Johnston; and two brothers, Bill Binns and Charles Hanson Binns, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Phyllis Beck Binns of Rock Springs; two children, Joey Binns (Amy) of New Edinburg and Shelley Mitchell (Tim) of Warren; step children, Angela Smith (David) of Woodlawn and Todd Morrison (Christine Franklin) of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Ta Stanfield (Laura), Joey Hanson Binns, Jr., Abbie Ferrell (Logan), Joey Binns, Jr., Sarah Richards (Wesley), and Brooke Moring (Devlyn); great grandchildren, Lane and Brook Stanfield, Hayden Binns, Kinsley and Parker Ferrell, Lily Moring, Brooke, Dax and Rilie Richards; step grandchildren, Ashley Butler (Dustin), Hunter Smith (Jessica), Storm Smith (Abbie), and Jordan Davis (Michael); step great grandchildren, Traver, Allysa and Kaylie Butler, Orion and Shiloh Smith, Camden and Jasper Davis; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Enon Cemetery in Rye with Brother Carroll Bryant officiating.
