What began as a one-man computer repair operation in rural Arkansas has grown into one of Southeast Arkansas’ most comprehensive technology and electrical service providers.
Founded by Kashif Kincaid, TechKnow 123 traces its roots back to 2007, when Kincaid was fixing computers on the side in Wilmar. By 2009, the work became more formal, and in 2010 the business officially took shape — sketched out on paper with a simple but powerful mission: make technology easier for everyday people.
“I’ve always believed technology shouldn’t be intimidating,” Kincaid said. “Let us handle the complex side. Our job is to explain things in a way customers are comfortable with and confident using.”
That philosophy became the foundation for the company’s name — TechKnow 123, Technology Made Easy. It’s a mindset that continues to guide the business today as it celebrates the opening of its new storefront at 300 Highway 425 South in Monticello.
Kincaid holds multiple degrees in technology, spanning hardware, network infrastructure, and programming. While he understands the coding side of the industry, he quickly learned his strengths were in hands-on work and customer interaction.
“I’m a people person,” he said. “I like being out in the field, seeing different spaces, figuring out how technology can actually improve how a business runs.”
From those early days of computer repair, TechKnow 123 steadily expanded into networking, cable installation, and residential services such as wireless systems and TV mounting. As the team grew, so did the scope of work — moving into large-scale commercial projects, school districts, hospitals, cooperatives, municipalities, and industrial facilities.
Today, TechKnow 123 employs more than 10 team members and operates with licensed, certified professionals across multiple disciplines.
“I’m only as strong as my team,” Kincaid said. “Every hire reflects who we are as a company. If I wouldn’t trust someone in my own home, I wouldn’t send them into a customer’s business.”
Under the TechKnow 123 brand, customers can now access a wide range of services through a single phone call.
The company offers both high-voltage and low-voltage electrical services, with a master electrician on staff. That includes residential and commercial electrical work, LED retrofits, surge protection, generators, new construction, remodels, maintenance contracts, and municipal and school district work.
On the technology side, TechKnow 123 provides network infrastructure, managed IT services, security and camera systems, access control, locksmithing, phone systems, audio and video installations, internet solutions, and custom computer builds.
“If you’re building a house or opening a business, we can handle it from start to finish,” Kincaid said. “Low voltage, high voltage, security, audio, video — one number, one team, one solution.”
For businesses, managed IT services allow companies to outsource their technology needs at a fraction of the cost of hiring full-time IT staff, while still receiving reliable, professional support.
TechKnow 123 is also E Rate certified which allows school districts and other businesses who are paid through the E Rate program to acquire the team’s services.
The new Monticello storefront marks an important step for the company, providing a visible, centralized location where customers can walk in, ask questions, and see the TechKnow 123 team in action.
“We’ve always had a strong customer base, but this puts us right on a busy highway where people can see us,” Kincaid said. “It makes us more accessible.”
TechKnow 123 also offers in-house financing options to help customers manage project costs, along with gift cards, making technology services more flexible and accessible for families and businesses alike.
Responsiveness remains a core value.
“When we say we’ll be there at 9 a.m., we’re there at 9,” Kincaid said. “We answer the phone. We return emails. We show up.”
Investing in the Future — and the Community
Beyond business growth, TechKnow 123 invests heavily in professional development, ensuring team members maintain certifications, attend training, and stay current with evolving technology.
Looking ahead, Kincaid says community involvement will play an even bigger role. The company is developing a “TechKnow Promise” initiative that will focus on giving back through monthly community projects — from supporting schools and youth programs to improving local facilities.
“We’ve been blessed to grow,” he said. “Now it’s our responsibility to be a blessing back to the communities we serve.”
As TechKnow 123 prepares for its upcoming grand opening at 300 Highway 425 S, the company remains grounded in the same principles that launched it nearly two decades ago: clear communication, dependable service, and technology that works for people — not the other way around.
