Sammy Paul Harmon, 90, of Monticello, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Belle View Estates. Paul was born May 29, 1934, in Drew County to the late Charles Burt "C.B." Harmon and Ruby Mae Mousehardt Harmon.
Paul owned Harmon Gulf Filling Station, worked at Burlington Industries until they closed and then was a janitor at Monticello Elementary School until his retirement. He enjoyed working and helping others and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church.
Paul is preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Loretta Boyd Harmon; father, C.B.; mother, who passed shortly after he was born, Ruby; stepmother who raised him, Gertrude Flora Brown Harmon; two daughters, Becky Kay Williams and Shelia Harris; son in law, Michael Williams; brother, James Harmon; and sisters, Charlene Hazelet and Alma Jean Letbetter.
He is survived by son in law, Bruce Harris; brother, Doyle Harmon; grandchildren, Micah Paul Williams (Micci), Tosha Williams, April Tharp, and Amand Gayton and significant other Jackie; great grandchildren, Evie Corn, Bailey Williams, Alyssa Williams, Dustin Tharp, and Ruby Tharp; great great grandchild, Lane Taylor; brothers in law, Kenneth Saffold (Hazel), and Eddie Eubanks (Leona); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Graveside Services will be Friday, November 15, 2024, at 2 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery in Monticello.
