Sarah Clariece Helton Mc Tigrit Norris, 88, of Monticello, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024, at South Arkansas Regional Medical Center in El Dorado. She was born April 19, 1936, in Bismarck to the late Thomas Kimsey Helton and Mary Melvina Tharp Helton.
Sarah loved gardening both with flowers and vegetables, sewing, so much so, she had a room specifically set up for her sewing, fishing, traveling, to include visiting 49 of 50 states, and keeping the lawn up at Tabernacle of Faith Church for many years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her one sister, Mary Howerton; one brother, Cleve Helton; first husband J.W. McTigrit; and second husband, Herman A. Norris.
Sarah is survived by one brother, Harvey Helton (Doris) of Warren; children, Janet Vinson (Tommy) of Magnolia, Ronnie McTigrit (Angel) of Star City, Patsy Hurst (Denny) of El Dorado, and Gary McTigrit of El Dorado; grandchildren, Heith McTigrit, Trent Vinson, Eli Vinson (Amie), Jennifer Bradley (Jeremy), Holly Persons (Kelly Ray); five great-grandchildren, Baily, Shelby, Luke, Canaan and Jacob; step-children, Debbie Newberry (Ronnie) and Terry Norris (Margaret); step-grandchildren Josh Newberry (Jamie), Sommer Riehn (Chase), Hayley Russell (Bart); and three step great- grandchildren, Ocean, Arvin, and Ila.
Visitation was Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 1-2 p.m. at Tabernacle of Faith Church, 2525 Hwy 425 North, Monticello. Funeral services followed at 2 p.m. at Tabernacle of Faith with Pastor Terry Norris and Rev. Margaret Norris officiating. Burial was in Tyro Cemetery.
