The SEARK Concert Association is celebrating a golden milestone this spring: 50 years of bringing the arts to Southeast Arkansas and it’s doing so in true 50s style with its production of Grease: The School Edition.

With its iconic soundtrack, high-energy choreography, and timeless story of friendship and finding your place, Grease provides the perfect backdrop for a celebration that honors five decades of music, theater, and opportunity across the region.

The festivities begin March 3 at 6 p.m. with a special premiere night fundraiser benefiting improvements to the University of Arkansas at Monticello Fine Arts Center. In honor of the organization’s 50th anniversary, premiere tickets are only $50. Following the performance, guests will enjoy an opening night anniversary celebration with the cast at the SEARK Cafe.

Additional evening performances will be held March 5-7 at 7 p.m. Audiences will also have the opportunity to attend a special matinee performance March 7 at 2 pm featuring one cast performing Act I and the other taking the stage for Act II offering a unique way to experience the talent of both casts.

This year’s cast showcases outstanding local performers stepping into the beloved halls of Rydell High. Clay Young leads the show as Danny Zuko. The role of Sandy is shared by Jessica Pettigrew and Heidi Rosas, each bringing her own heart to the iconic character. Jeff Newton brings swagger and edge to the role of Kenickie. Haley Curtis and Heather Cox shine as Marty, while Ashley Hogg and Sara Davis share the role of the fierce and unforgettable Rizzo.

The Pink Ladies are rounded out by Jan, portrayed by Sophie Barrilleaux and Kohl Phillips, and Frenchy, brought to life by Karis Files and Chloe Armbrust. The T-Birds keep things jumping with Parker Harris and Cade Newton as Doody, John Sawyer Murphy and Thomas O’Neill sharing the role of Roger, and Daniel Lane as Sonny. Gage Williams takes on the role of Gage, adding even more personality and presence to the Rydell crew.

Adding extra flair and vocal power to the production, Brandon Hogg and Randall Baker share the dynamic roles of Teen Angel and Vince Fontaine, bringing both smooth harmonies and larger-than-life stage presence to these fan-favorite moments.

Together, this talented ensemble captures the energy, humor, and heart that have made Grease a beloved favorite for generations.

Beyond public performances, more than 2,500 students from across SEARK’s seven-county region will attend school performances at no cost to their districts. These performances are part of SEARK’s SMARTS program, which provides K–12 students access to high-quality, professional fine arts experiences regardless of their school’s resources.

As SEARK celebrates 50 years, this production represents more than a musical — it reflects a legacy of investing in young performers, enriching classrooms, and strengthening community connections through the arts.

Tickets for all performances are available online at searkconcert.org or by phone 870-460-1888.
