Shelby Jean Williams, 85, of Monticello, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Dalton's Place in Star City. She was born May 10, 1938, in Monticello to the late Jack E. Jordan and Maude Boone Jordan. Mrs. Shelby was a bank teller for many years and a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and being at church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her three husbands, John Funderburg, Bob Lynn, and Marvin Williams; six brothers, Adrian Jordan, Bobby Jordan, Alvin Jordan, Danny Ray Jordan, Jack Jordan, and Gary Jordan; and two sisters, Jewel Hargis, and Lelia Gavin.
Mrs. Shelby is survived by one daughter, Jackie Pennington; two sons, John Funderburg, and Murry (Tony) Funderburg; one step daughter, Rena McCone (Randy Paul); one step son, Lynn Williams; eight grandchildren, Michael Lusinger, Amber Thrower, Katie Funderburg, Sarah Funderburg, Miranda Pennington, Kendal Pennington, Jake Funderburg, Jill Funderburg, Hannah Flemister (Brian), and Kohl Jones (Beau); eighteen great-grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Marie Jordan, Jane Jordan, and Glenda Jordan; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation was Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 10-11 a.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Funeral Services followed at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Monticello, Arkansas.
