Thomas Cleo Leggett, 88, of Monticello, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2024, at Drew Memorial Baptist Health in Monticello. He was born January 31, 1936, in Warren to the late William Byron Leggett and Marie Miller Leggett.
He was retired from the Soil Conservation Service in Warren, a member of Pauline Missionary Baptist Church and a United States Air Force Veteran where he was a airplane mechanic. Thomas enjoyed anything mechanical, deer hunting, listening to music and teaching his children everything he knew.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Steve Leggett and Byron Leggett; and a sister, Sue Wells.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nealie Peacock Leggett of Monticello; a daughter, Sonya Dawne Ryburn (Robbie) of Monticello; a son, Thomas Neal Leggett (Karen) of Monroe, La.; siblings, Joe Leggett of Concord, David Reece Leggett (Sharon) of Camden, James Patrick Leggett (Nova) of Monticello, Mary Ethel Murphy (Charles) of Bryant, and Randy Earl Leggett (Ruby) of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Alyson Brooke Rabb (Michael), Robert Lee Ryburn, IV, William Thomas Leggett, Eryn Elizabeth Wood (Conner); and great grandchildren, Paxton, Cleo and Wren Rabb.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rob Leonard officiating. Visitation was from 2-3 p.m. Saturday preceding the funeral. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
