UAM places at the top at 67th Southern Forestry Conclave

The University of Arkansas at Monticello College of Forestry, Agriculture and Natural Resources recently hosted the 67th annual Southern Forestry Conclave at the UAM Diesel Academy. Out of the 14 universities competing in the conclave, UAM placed third overall.

UAM placed first in Wildlife, and had third place finishes in Wood Technology, DBH Estimation, Men’s Bowsaw, Women’s Bowsaw, Chain Throw, Jack & Jill Crosscut, Men’s Crosscut and Pole Felling.

Students placing in the top three of the events were:

Wildlife: Brent Haden and Riley McGihan

Wood Technology: David Coussens

DBH Estimation: Holton Johnson

Men's Bowsaw: David Coussens

Women's Bowsaw: Marce Aranda

Chain Throw:  Hannah Hopson and Tate Tanner

Jack & Jill Crosscut:  Marce Aranda and Tate Tanner

Men's Crosscut:  Tate Tanner and Josh Meyers

Pole Felling:  Caleb Van Pelt
