Venita M. DeFir, 76, of Monticello, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2024, at Baptist Health Medical Center Drew County. She was born on September 16, 1948, in Monticello to her parents, Ira King and Margaret Wilkerson. She enjoyed watching tv shows. Venita loved visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert M. DeFir Jr; her brother, Ira Laron King; and her sisters, Venita May Harvey, Sharon Milholand, and Dorothy Marilyn King; grandchildren, Austin, Michelle, and Keith.
Venita is survived by her daughter, Laura A. Andrew of Monticello; her son, Bobby DeFir III (Leigh Anne) of Selma; her stepsisters, Eva Peacock, Mitz DeFir, Brenda King, and Robin DeFir; her grandchildren, Tristen, Noah, Emmaleigh, Paden, Maggie, Josh, Robbie, Sam, Melissa, Mandy, Jody, DeeDee, Jessica, and Kevin; and a host of great grandchildren, other family, and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home Chapel. Immediately following will be the funeral service with Brother Phillip Payne officiating. Interment will be at Selma Cemetery.
