Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary back in service

Posted

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary was forced to shut down a few years ago due to a lack of members. Today, they're back up and running with 20 members and are actively recruiting.

The VFW Auxiliary is a organization under the VFW that supports VFW members through community events.

The VFW Auxiliary holds events such as bingo on Mondays and Fridays at 6 p.m. in the VFW Center located at 131 East Briarcliff Rd., a rummage sale planned for the future, and a state convention which was held from June 1-4 at the VFW center. They are also planning a bingo brunch for June 22 at the VFW center.

To join the auxiliary you must have an immediate family member who is in the VFW.

The VFW Auxiliary holds monthly meetings at 1 p.m. on the second Saturday of every month at the VFW center. For more information on joining the auxiliary you can contact Wanda at 870-723-5259.
